Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to help spread the word for a friend and fellow audiophile of mine, Dean Morris, or as he is now known ‘The Gleeman’ I had no idea that he was such a talented musician but over the last couple of years he has fulfilled his dream to record some of his songs and pursue a long standing ambition to publish his music for the world to enjoy and I have to say if you appreciate real songs then I highly recommend you give his music a listen, I still find it hard to believe that it is actually Dean who I used to hang out with at TLC Broadcast years ago trying out various bits of AV and HiFi, you can find his music on Spotify, Tidal, Qobuz and YouTube plus he is on all the normal social channels.
Please find more info below as written by Dean and please do give him a listen, I know you’ll love it. Hopefully in the near future we can have Dean play an acoustic set at the shop, watch this space.
‘So, during the crazy that was 2020, I finally scratched a very long-standing itch and recorded an album of original songs.
It was produced by Will Hicks (Ed Sheeran) and though I play the main instrument on each track (Guitar or Piano), the album was augmented by a fine cast of musicians including Ash Soan (Adele + loads) on drums, Fred Abbott (from Noah & The Whale) on guitars and keys, plus singer / broadcaster David Grant on BV’s.
I am very proud of it. Some other people seem to like it.
Since then I have been doing a few “secret” gigs and working with a great team of people to build up to the release of the album.
I quietly released “The Gunslinger – Acoustic EP” to the streaming platforms at the end of May under my artist name of The Gleeman. This contains stripped back acoustic versions of songs that were recorded during the “Something To Say” album sessions, some of which will appear in full on the album.
The EP to date has over 13.5K total streams on Spotify and I have over 40K followers on Facebook.
Thank you to the few who kindly listened to the album early on and for the valuable feedback. The album has changed a little now, hopefully for the better, as some newer songs are making their way on.
I will be releasing 4-5 songs over the next few months to further build up some steam ahead of releasing singles from the album, which will be supported by a full campaign in the new year.
The first of these will be Hanging Around, which will be released on the 30th September (which also happens to be my birthday!).
I would appreciate any support you can give me in this endeavour in any way that you can.’
