The icon

For decades the name Heed Obelisk was equal to a truly unique experience among the vast world of audio amplifiers. In some of these years we offered two versions to choose from, with two different character. We are reviving the tradition and offering two versions again, and now the difference between the two Obelisk models are greater than ever before. The Obelisk Super Integrated offers a more polished, a more immersive, and an effortlessly more impactful presentation. While the little brother highlights the essence of music with astonishing rhythm and instrument proportions, the Super Integrated displays the delicacy of the musical expression with a deeper focus on details. There are many technical differences between the two amplifiers. A more powerful transformer is used, along with double amount of filtering and output capacitors, different power darlingtons and driver transistors, different auxiliary circuits, and all the time constants and biasing settings that are part of the Transcap tuning are changed for the Super Integrated. The two amplifiers have been meticulously tuned to reach perfection in their own world. We have changed the ‘traditional Obelisk tuning’ for both models. The Super Integrated now pushes the boundaries of the category from above, offering much more than any previous incarnations.

Skillfully Handcrafted

Wherever possible we use hand tools and manual labour to build our amplifiers, including the hand soldering of the PCBs. This is how we ensure that every small component receives a dedicated attention. Every amplifier is unique in a way and incorporates a piece of our soul in its circuits.

 

Transcap Tuning

The Obelisk Super Integrated has 4x 10.000 uF filtering and 2x 10.000 uF output capacitors, paired with a custom audio-grade 250 VA transformer. We selected the extra-long life high performance Kemet ALC70 capacitor series for this amplifier. The current delivery and filtering options adjusted to be balanced, slightly to the ‘Charming’ side with fast transient response and enriched lower frequencies, as well as delicate and spacious atmosphere.

 

Discrete MM Phono

We mostly use discrete semiconductors in our amplifiers, including the MM phono section. This is a 2-stage active/passive RIAA preamplifier with excellent headroom and great compatibility with the majority of the MM cartridges.

The external Obelisk Power Supply can be connected to this amplifier. This way all the analog sections are supplied with an even higher quality clean power, as well as the power amplifiers are improved by the mains noise and DC filter.
