Koetsu Red T Moving Coil Cartridge – Koetsu cartridges certainly are not cheap, and they are probably not the most revealing pickups out there, but they do something magical unlike any other cartridge, if you want to experience real warmth, texture and smoothness without a hint of brightness to your vinyl then Koetsu could be for you, Koetsu cartridges have a timbral richness with a clarity and presence that just makes everything sound real, you can’t ask for more than that. All Koetsu’s are hand made in small numbers many using precious materials which all adds to the mystery of Koetsu and why many people would not own any other cartridge than a Koetsu.
Lighter in weight as compared to it’s little brother, the Black, it will mate well with many of today’s tonearms without the need of additional counterweights.
The Rosewood Standard and Signature are very similar in construction. Electrically, the Signature offers a more closely matched core and coil set. Cosmetically, the Standard is distinguished by a sloped base when viewed lengthwise while the Rosewood Signature is rectangular-shaped like the other Koetsu cartridges. The Rosewood Standard/Signature is also sometimes referred to as the Red/Red Signature.
For decades, the Koetsu sound has been legend in audiophile lore. But only a proud few have owned and experienced the unequaled magic these hand-built cartridges evoke. Many of the converted search out second and third Koetsus. Why? Maybe it’s time you hear for yourself.
With their hand wound coils and meticulously carved stone and wood bodies Koetsu cartridges transend the boundaries between art and science.
Every audiophile music lover knows of the legendary sound of Koetsu phono cartridges from decades past. Those old enough to have experienced Sugano’s Koetsus retain the memory of a musical experience unequaled. Few were privileged to own and enjoy a Koetsu. Many of the converted searched out second and third Koetsus, assuring a long, cherished relationship.
