Last week an exciting delivery of the Sonus Faber Omnia, all in one wireless system, arrived on our doorstep. Of course, we immediately unboxed, plugged it in and boiled the kettle. I have to say it was a breeze to set up and I was able to get some music playing via Tidal Connect within a few minutes. After enjoying its presence in the office this past week and putting it through its paces, the conclusion is it’s staying for a little longer. I think you could forgive someone for simply thinking it was a piece of artwork because of its unique shape and beautiful finish, but this is Sonus Faber after all! The craftsmanship and aesthetics of all their products leave little to be desired, and this speaker is no exception.
Overall I found the sound to be open, relaxed and accurate. The clarity across the entire frequency range is impressive, especially for its size, and it does have bass! Not overpowering bass but reassuring even with the volume attenuated. The stereo image is also worth a mention and is very well presented. You will have no problem separating multiple parts in a busy mix, but you will struggle to turn it off once it’s on!
There’s obviously some healthy competition within its field. Still, the Omnia is a very welcomed addition to the market, giving you an extensive choice of connections, a beautiful aesthetic, and a thoroughly enjoyable listening experience. What more could you want? Pop in for a demo if you like and see what you think? Chances are it will be serenading the office walls as you walk in.
All the best,
