Hope all is well, so it’s certainly been a while since our last open day but I’m so excited to announce that we have our next one planned and it is a big one spread over 2 days celebrating a very special milestone of a company that really did inspire me to start a HiFi shop as many of you will know, so I’d like to invite you to join us on either September the 18th or 19th to celebrate the 35th Anniversary of PMC Speakers at HiFi Lounge. PMC Speakers are very close to my heart so let’s make this one to remember.
We have a lot of PMC Customers, they are by far our most popular speaker brand and rightly so, I’m sure a lot of you know the history of PMC Speakers, founded by Peter Thomas and Julian Loader way back in 1991 but the below really is a great watch if you haven’t seen it yet, we run BB5 SE’s at home so it is great to see the original drawings for these and how the BB5 was where it all started, what an incredible way to start your company and to see that the BB5 is still going strong today to show that Peter and Julian really did an incredible job from Day 1 –
35th Anniversary Celebration Plans (still a work in progress) –
Reel to Reel with Peter Thomas.
We will have 3 rooms running over the the 2 days with a very special session on each day hosted by Peter Thomas, we have been speaking about doing this for years but finally it is going to happen, Peter will be coming along with his Reel 2 Reel tape player with a selection of tapes of very special recordings to play and talk about, this really is going to be something not to miss, the main reason we haven’t done it before is that I feel that anyone who likes music really won’t want to miss this, I feel we’d be better off hiring the Royal Albert Hall to be honest as I feel so many people will want to come, Peter will hold 1 of these sessions a day at Midday with numbers restricted to around 20 people a session, I really can’t wait for this one personally.
We will hold this in our 2nd downstairs demo room where we will be running the epic PMC Fenestria Speakers powered by Bryston 28B3’s mono amplifiers, just found this pic of Peter setting up our demo Fenestria’s a few years ago.
Upstairs Demo Room – Hosted By Michell Audio.
In our upstairs demo room we will be running the PMC Prophecy speakers with their COR Integrated Amplifier but this promises to be a great room as Michell Audio will be running this room showcasing their stunning new Revolv and Gyro turntables, Michell are distributed by PMC for those who don’t know, so I couldn’t resist the opportunity to spin some vinyl.
1st Downstairs Demo Room.
This promises to be another great room where the plan is to have a pair of PMC MB2 XBD’s driven by Bryston 7B3 mono amps, this is another room I can’t wait to spend time in as the MB2 XBD was always the speakers I wanted to own but for some reason I never did but they have always been something special to me.
This room will be run by PMC themselves and they will be playing music that they have been directly involved with over the 35 years with a small talk about each song, again this promises to be another room not to miss, these presentations will be at 10am and 2pm to bookmark Peters Reel to Reel sessions.

We will have representatives here from PMC and Michell to answer any questions you may have and we will have a selection of food and drink available throughout the day to help keep your energy up for what promises to be a truly brilliant 2 days of music and celebration of a very special UK company, hopefully the weather will be nice so that we can overspill into the gardens so that no one needs to dash off when the presentations are over, let’s make this a real party.
I think that covers everything, I wanted to start promoting this day as soon as possible but I will update this post with more concrete news as we get nearer to the event.
