JBL Summit Ama Now On Permanent Demo With the Pumori Following Shortly!

Hi Everyone,

I have said it many times that speakers are my favourite part of the HiFi chain, I know everything matters but there is something about speakers that gets me excited, I guess part of it is that changing speakers in any system can bring the biggest change to the presentation and what you are listening to and it is exciting that there are so many ways to design a speaker so we have so many shapes and sizes, all quite fascinating really.

Anyway I digress, so anyone who has been in the shop lately will know that we have a lot of speakers here, some of the best in the world really, all of them brilliant but quite different, so in reality the last thing HFL needs is more speakers. So for any speaker to get in the door now it has to be pretty special and offer something no other speaker we have here currently offers, basically it needs to stand out from the crowd and this is exactly how I feel about the new Summit range from JBL.

I was quite adamant that we weren’t going to bring these on when I was offered a demo but once I heard them I was sold, I’m so weak I know, but they give a really lovely large soundstage, fantastic bass weight and just a big and engaging sound that we all agreed at HFL was pretty compelling and deserved to be in our portfolio of speakers.

We got the baby of the range last week, the Ama which is a 2 way, 8 inch stand mount, which I have to say are beautifully designed and put together, then in a week or so we will have the 3 way 10 inch floor-standing Pumori here which I am really looking forward to.

There are 3 models in the range at the moment, if you are interested in the 3 way 12 inch Makalu just let me know as we can borrow that from JBL at anytime but if either of the Ama or Pumori are of any interest please feel free to come in for a listen.

Please find the new JBL Summit range below on our website + a few pictures of our Ama’s being run in, we will be having an open day this Spring so please watch this space.
